The principle of operation of a so-called solar generator is very different from how a conventional fuel-powered generator works. The mechanics are different, and the technical characteristics tend to be very different, too.
The basic setup of a solar generator is a battery, an inverter, a solar charger and solar panels. The energy from the solar panels passes through the solar charger to the rechargeable battery, and then the inverter converts the DC electricity to AC electricity.
Another, more appropriate label for solar panels is portable power plant. Sometimes these devices are also called universal portable power plants, when the battery can also be charged through a regular wall socket or car outlet.
Advantages of a portable solar power plant over fuel generators
There are many advantages to using solar power for remote off-grid locations. The sun is free to all and shines all over the world, so using solar power in this sense is a safe bet.
